FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q: Why can't I find a particular oligo?

If an oligo can not be found, it is likely a control oligo. Control oligos are oligos that begin with 'z' or end in 'a' through 'z'. These oligos were not included in the data contained on this website.

Q: After an initial query, why do subsequent queries ignore the new constraints?

If this is occuring, try clearing the contents of the form before a new query. Alternatively, rather than using the browser's 'Back' button to return to the Search page, use the 'HOME' link at the top of every page. This will automatically clear the Search page.

Q: What do the different colored points on the Log Ratio (Cy5/Cy3) v. Time (hours) graph on the oligonucleotide page represent?

A black point represents a good data point. A white spot represents a bad data point. A red spot represents the average of multiple data for that point in the IDC.

Q: How can I view ZIP files?

Zip files are single or multiple files that have been compressed for easier downloading. To uncompress or unzip these files, you need WinZip for PC computers or StuffIt Expander for Macs.

Q: How can I view PDF files?

To view Portable Document Files (PDF), download a copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Q: How can I view PCL or CDT files?

To view PCL or CDT files, download a copy of Java TreeView.

Q: What are the plastid genome strands on the gene maps?

The plus (green) strand represents the outer strand of the plastid genome. The complement (blue) strand represents the inner strand of the plastid genome.
